 Udma is a small town located in Kasaragod District and is located about 11 KM away from Kasaragod. The population of Udma is about 8,144. The town has 46% male population and 54% female population. The average literacy rate of Udma is 71% and official languages are English and Malayalam. Udma is located at 12.444 0N Latitude and 75.024 0E Longitude. Udma is an assembly constituency that belongs to Parliamentary Constituency of Kasaragod in Kerala.

Bekal Fort

Located in Pallikara Village along the sea shore, Bekal Fort is the main attraction of Udma. This is one of the most important archaeological sites of Udma. Bekal Fort offer scintillating views of the surroundings and has got a temple of Lord Hanumana at the entrance.

The fort also has a very old mosque which is believed to have been constructed by Tipu Sultan.

Our Lady of Sorrows Church

One of the oldest churches around Udma, this monument attract people for its Gothic Architecture. The church is controlled by Mangalore Diocese.

Nityandasramam and Anandashram

These two ashramas are very famous ashramas located in Kanhangad. Anandashram is located near Railway Station of Kanhangad. This ashrama was established by Swami Ramadasa, a renowned Vaishnava Saint of Modern India. The natural surroundings of this place is splendid with grooves of Coconut, Mango and other trees around. Nityanandasramam was established by Swami Nityananda and is located on a hillock.  The architecture of this ashramam is inspired by the architecture of Somnath Temple in Gujarat.

One of its kind lake temples in entire Kerala, this temple is the original seat of Swami Anathapadmanabha. According to legends, Swami Anathapadmanabha has settled down at this place.
